Radio SWATI – Voice of the Community
Radio SWATI (90.8 FM) is a Community Radio Station commissioned in November 2023, inaugurated by dignitaries on 15th December 2023 as an initiative of SWATI (Social Welfare Agency and Training Institute). Strategically located at Bandhagada in Phiringia Block, nestled in the scenic foothills of Kandhamal district, Odisha, the station reaches an area of 8–10 sq. km.
The station is committed to promoting Kandhamal’s rich cultural heritage, and fostering socio-economic development through informative and awareness-based programming. It regularly features content on agriculture, education, health, environment, and government schemes, making it a vital local communication platform
Radio SWATI is :
• A proud member of the Community Radio Association (CRA), New Delhi and CRA-Odisha
• Functioning in compliance with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB) guidelines
• Empanelled with DAVP (now CBC), Govt. of India
• Successfully implemented key initiatives like:
○ AVAYA, a senior citizen awareness program supported by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment
○ Educational broadcasts under the NIPUN Odisha mission
