SWATI has identified its thematic areas according to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and local priorities
SWATI promotes SDG Goals 1 and 2 through livelihood, agriculture, and skill development initiatives. It has implemented programs like JEEVIKA, WADI, and MGNREGS. Currently, it supports FADP in Kondhamal, Forest Sector Development in Ganjam, and the Millet Mission in Raikia, improving food security and sustainable rural livelihoods.
To support SDG Goal 3, SWATI implements health programs focusing on maternal and child health, malaria, HIV/AIDS, sanitation, and safe water. Past efforts include MNCHN, Swachha Bharat, and PEHECHAN. Current initiatives include HIV prevention, maternity services, PRACDIP, and mobile health access through delivery vans, bike ambulances, and village drives.
To achieve SDG Goal 4, SWATI promotes inclusive education through NIOS for dropouts, early childhood care, e-learning centers, and youth libraries in Kandhamal. It publishes educational materials, creates audiovisual content on key issues, and raises awareness through social media forums, fostering lifelong learning and community engagement in remote areas.
To advance SDG Goal 5, SWATI empowers women and girls through education, awareness, and skill development. Initiatives include ANANYA to prevent child marriage, youth campaigns on gender-based violence, NIOS for dropouts, and Back to Basic for early education. Past programs addressed legal rights, domestic violence, and life skills training for women.
To advance SDG Goals 13 and 15, SWATI implements natural resource development, climate-resilient agriculture, and community forest management. Past efforts include DPAP and cyclone rehabilitation. Currently, it supports Odisha Forest Sector Development Phase-2 in Ganjam and conducts awareness campaigns on climate change and natural resource protection to promote sustainability.
To support SDG Goal 16, SWATI promotes peaceful, inclusive societies by forming youth clubs and community organizations focused on justice and harmony. Initiatives like ANTARANGA, Accountable Governance, and Social Watch Monitors empower communities to access rights, engage in governance, and foster communal peace, transparency, and active civic participation at all levels.
